Is there any way to stop a looping effect such as slicearranger from running an infinite loop when the Ableton clip is stopped? Or even if Turnado is placed on a return track, tell the effect to rapidly decay if there's no audio signal coming into the track?

Hi landrvr1,

if you want to stop the effects together with your Ableton there is a setting at the settings page of Turnado called 'Turn Off Knobs on host stop'

Please note that for certain effects eg the Spectralizer this is the correct behaviour.
You should consider it like a delay with 100% feedback. The best way would be to either trigger Turnado via MIDI or set some automation for the main knob (or the dry/wet control of the effect), so that it starts and stops at the exact location you want when you play your song.

Hope this helps.

Best,
Nadine
