After a not particularly fruitful search for a highly liquidy, clear, and vowel-like software envelope filter that would work especially well with bass while not being overly thick sounding (desirable for many, but not the right sound for my mixes), I decided to see what I could make using only effects built into Live 9. Turns out you can build one damn squishy envelope filter, but it takes a bunch of filters to get the sound right.

So without further ado, I present to you...Pudding, a free envelope follower effects rack - just unzip, load Live, drag it into the effects area of track, then...cook and chill. Awwww yeah. (Bonus humor points to those who get that reference.)

[Edit: fixed file uploaded. The last one appeared to have an odd problem.]

Pudding was built with bass in mind, but it works great on any dynamic audio source.

Features:
  • • Independent cutoff knobs for low, mid, and high
    • Resonance
    • Distortion
    • Envelope modulation amount
    • Attack + Release time combo knob
    • LFO modulation (knob adjusts speed as well as depth)

I just started using Live lately, I haven't delved into what all can be done with it. I'm still sticking to my minimal workflow for the moment, but having a Push really helps make everything less painful.

Thanks for the effect rack! And glad to see you seem to be doing okay. The new site looks great.
I still keep Rez in my primary synth toolbox btw. And I just picked up Audio Damage Basic, I think they'd go good together.

I got Push last year and am really loving it as a MIDI controller. Those pads feel great.

Hope you find the rack useful, and thanks. :) Yes things are well with me - just very busy with work and home life, so I don't have the time to make SE plugins anymore. Glad to hear that you're still using Rez. Among the plugins I built, that was always one of my favorites.

The last file seemed to be having a weird problem when extracting, at least on my Mac, so I've posted a new version using RAR instead. This one seems to be extracting properly now.
