I'm a big fan of Sonic Birth, use it on film/TV soundtracks, and plug it whenever I can...
http://provideocoalition.com/index.php/ ... _your_own/ (http://provideocoalition.com/index.php/jrose/story/rolling_your_own/) for example.

I'm not a programmer so can't contribute code. But I but have done pretty well designing audio algorithms for Eventide and Orban, and some people think I'm a pretty good author. http://www.dplay.com/#why (http://www.dplay.com/#why)

How can I help? Need docs? Demos?

Hi Jay,

Sorry for the late reply.

I'm currently rewriting SonicBirth, and in version 2, most elements (filters, generators, etc) will be written in SonicBirth directly. It'll also be possible to add new elements you write to the default list, and I think that's where people could contribute: create reusable elements and license them (BSD license ?) so they can be integrated in the basic distribution of Sonicbirth.

I expect the first alpha of SonicBirth v2 to be available in a few weeks.

Cheers!

Markira,

That's great news. If I understand correctly, I'll be able to string together circuits out of basic elements, and then use these new circuits as elements in other projects... displaying all the control / audio / labels / info etc that I'd see with any other element.

That's perfect for somebody like me, who's fairly good with signal flow and algorithms but lacks programming skills. Of course anything I contribute will be freely distributable and open source.

Will there be some indication of CPU usage, so you know when all those complex custom elements are starting to hog processing?

Unfortunately, it'll probably be a bit later than that, but I'm aiming for end of September/early October...

Cheers!

Any update on the re-release?
Extremely excited and would love to help any way that I can.

I had to postpone the alpha a bit as I'm working on a new major version of the app that brings the most money (gotta pay the bills!).

Currently, I have VST and AudioUnit export working properly. I also have VST export working for Windows, but it's tied to my machine at the moment, I have to package the necessary tools for a portable distribution. Once that's done, I just need to do a bit of cleanup here and there, add a time limit to the alpha, then I can share it.

I expect to have a bit of time next week to work on that, but I'm not sure if it'll be enough to complete the first alpha.

Cheers!

Hey,

I love SonicBirth and would like to contribute in any way I can. I'm a sound engineer and have been developing a few plugins with SB.. Can't do programming but I do a bit of web design..

Let me know if I can help in any way (testing/make circuits..?)
