I have a hard time working with MDrummer at some point.
One of the most important tabs of this plugin is the Rhythm Editor. This is where I spent the most time editing the drums for my songs, and the Loop Selector is essential for my workflow. I want to create lots of loops to be versatile and progressive.
Now the weird thing is, you can find those little great randomization buttons all over the place but NOT in the loop editor!
There is the "Generate" button, yes. But this opens a new window and every time you click on generate and then somewhere else, the window disappears. This is so frustrating and you have to open this window all the time. What a workflow killer!
If there is a tab where randomization makes the most sense in MDrummer, then it is the Rhythm and Loop Editor!

Not exactly sure what you mean, but if you have MD already playing, then open the generate window, you can select different templates and click generate over and over while MD plays, but to select a different loopbox (on the keyboard) you have to close the generator window first.
BTW, have you tried (in the rhythm editor) Edit> Advanced> Generate from template....generates a whole new Rhythm rather than doing one loopbox at a time (I realize that's prob not what you are getting at with your question..just a related aside).

Thank you, goldglob.goldglob wrote:but to select a different loopbox (on the keyboard) you have to close the generator window first.
This is exactly what I mean. Opening and closing windows all the time is unreasonable for a modern software plugin. No way for me to get the job done this way, it takes too long.
When I try to create a break I can listen to it by pressing the shortcut 3 on the keyboard. Otherwise the Drummer will always jumb back to the beat.
So let´s say I´m pressing 3 to playback the break I want to edit and now go to Generate. A new window opens but suddenly I´m no longer able to playback the break because MDrummer jumbs back to the beat. So I am forced to close the window, press 3 again, go to Generate to create a new break but cannot listen to it because I no longer hear the break but the beat again. You cannot imagine how painful this is.
The next thing is, I would like to be able to split tabs but there is no way to do that in MDrummer, and it is a VST3 plugin..
For example, I need to extract the Drumset window and place it next to the Rhythm Editor to instantly change sounds while creating loops and drum patterns at the same time.

Rhythm Editor / Advanced settings and disable Sequencer mode, then MDrummer won't behave like a drummer anymore and will just play the loop allover again.
As for randomization, I'm afraid that's a rather complex subject. It's close randomizing a song...which we all know isn't exactly easy to do and if it was, we humans would become obsolete .
I'm lost anyways - I thought you want the create loops (hence edit them, record them or something), not just generate. If so, what is such a big deal in opening a popup for such a superadvanced feature? It is pretty obvious it cannot be done without further settings anyways. Just think about the vast number of styles, drum types...
