Plowshares to Swords to Plowshares: A Progressive Rock Odyssey (Abridged)
http://www.markleford.com/music/files/0 ... shares.mp3

lyrics wrote:The determined farmboy appealed to the witch-queen:
"I seek glory and fame!
Give me the power,
And I will conquer in your name."

The witch-queen smiled dryly:
"Then I give you the might you desire.
Go -- make the world mine to rule,
With fist and sword and fire."

And so the young warrior embarked on a legendary journey...

He took the head of the gorgon
Tamed the jaws of Cerberus
Wore the skin of a dragon
He even beat Chuck Norris

Outriddled the desert Sphinx
Solved the maze of the minotaur
Toppled temples of Syrinx
Whatever came he beat them all

Until one day...

I've grown tired of this war
Can only wonder if there's
something more

The flowers and trees
The birds and the bees
And other things
That rhyme with "E"

My conscience keeps me
from sleep at night.
Must I go on?
Why must I fight?

"You fight because *I* command it."
"That's not good enough anymore."
"Then your final battle shall be... against me!"

(FIGHT!)

Years later the old man died while tending his fields,
alone and unsung,
branded a traitor,
But with ultimate peace in his heart

Well... here's this month's lead balloon...

Aftermath (View From the Sky)

lyrics:

We sweep in low
Throwing up waves of dust in a field of graves
Tell me again
Are these the ones we came to save?

Make another pass
Upturned faces like a broken bell's ring
Tell me again
Is this the peace we came to bring?

Primary instruments: Pentagon and B4 (the crunching chords are B4 too); everything played in "real time" except the drums.

(Sorry about the "throwing up", but "stirring up" didn't seem to be strong enough, and I'm out of time.)

Oh, and dadblastit, Scoops! I wasn't going to do these contests anymore and here you come with a theme I can't resist. :P
