I thought to myself, "If the original reminded me of the theme to a 70's Sci-Fi/suspense movie, what would the theme to the 2007 remake sound like?"

This is what I came up with: That Old Picture (Photo Negative remix)

Much simpler than my usual fodder but then I paid a lot more attention to how the sounds sat together than I usually would. Thanks Liqih, for the tracks I definitely had fun with this one. It doesn't sound as huge as synthgeek's but I hope you enjoy it.

Holy sh*t! Gorgeous, fragile piece of work. Don't think I've heard you go in this direction before, but you've definitely done a great job here.

Thanks guys, I thought it was too repetitve at first but once I lisened to it without looking at the timeline of my sequencer it worked. I guess making music that never repeats has had adverse effects on my attention span.

many thanks 3am for your interpration on this,

I like of this remix the delicate and ecstatic mood,
you achived that both by the sounds and the elaboration of the original parts, cool,
those makes this remix the most "forwarded" from the original, so maybe I miss a bit of the groove it had,
but this doesn't detract from the creativity you show here

Enjoying this quite a bit. I could stand for some huge breakbeat drums coming in at the switch-up around 2:30-2:40 or so. Then back them out again. That would probably ruin the rather delicate atmosphere the track currently portrays - but it's what I kept expecting.

That is the direction I normally would have gone but I felt like restraining myself. Besides that, I felt like that is what people would have expected. I half wanted to use all sampled acoustic instruments and make it sound as "live" as possible. That idea got trashed early on. I'm glad you liked it though.

Excellent tune, very original, both sides of this remix work (sounds & arrangements) go together very well and I like the delicate mood here.
Nicely done
