I participated in the 2007 February is Album Writing Month; writing, recording, editing, posting 14 songs in the 28 days of February 2007.

All participants are being asked to consider submitting a song for inclusion in the double CD that will be released later in the year. The song may be re-recorded and edited for use on the CD, as many of the submitted songs are quite lo-fi sketches (I tried not to submit songs like that, but you can only do so much with 14 songs in a month and a day job).

I'm asking for my fellow KVRians, to help me decide which of my songs I should submit for consideration.

Of the 14 songs I wrote/recorded, I think 6 of them should at least be included in the poll. So, here are the links if you wouldn't mind listening and voting.

Category: Reggae / Social Commentary
Song: Scott Lake - The Third Way

Category: Ambient / Guitar and buzz instrumental
Song: Scott Lake - Frozen

Category: Jazz|Rock Instrumental
Song: Scott Lake - DADGADummit

Category: Ballad|Anthem / Social Commentary
Song: Scott Lake - Under the Same Sky

Category: Children's / Novelty
Song: Scott Lake - Chocolate Sandwich Cookie

Category: Singer Songwriter / vocal& acoustic guitar
Song: Scott Lake - Lilt

Again, I'll re-record the winner; taking more time on production and tracking, for consideration. I might, no promises here, consider a drawing to buy one of the FAWM compilation CDs and send it to a randomly chosen respondent to this thread using a random number generator in excel.

Thanks for your time.

I voted for 'Lilt', but 'Frozen' comes close behind; i like the other songs too...'Under The Same Sky' is beautiful, but there are too many words in one moment sometimes. 'DAGAG' is too long without vocals, but great playing here. 'Thirdway' is well done, 'Chocolate Sandwich Cookie'...yeah, my n° 3!

i echo mello's thoughts, "lilt" is my choice, given the format of the FAWM CD. it's brevity and textural economy only serve to lift it emotionally.

Mello, Thanks for the bump.

So far, 4 votes total! I should have made the subject more tantalizing, or made better music, or both!

liqih, you are right.

I will actually re-record, mix, master the song for submission as per the contest request. These were all recorded and posted in one evening's worth of work for each one.

Thanks for voting.

zeoy, I decided not to post that one. It's actually a religious song and to be quite honest, I just don't feel like dealing with the 'hyde park' comments it might spawn.

But you must have liked that one to remember it from February - so thanks for the mention.

bump back to pg 1 - looking for a few more votes, though 'Lilt' looks like the clear winner right now.
