It's time to start thinking about next month's contest! I was thinking of something super duper "formal" for next month. Maybe a symmetrical rondo (e.g. ABACABA) or something similar, unless anyone (Donkey ) had any other ideas!

3/4 time. I've not almost finished writing something in 3/4. You can trust me, honest.

How about combining three past themes into one:
A round
5
Different instruments
So, A round with five parts, each being played with a different instrument.
E.g. Soft-synth, guitar, sample player, voice, harmonica

It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently now an 'elderly' so maybe I forgot!

How about a collaboration with the Mix Challenge community?
The plan for April is the theme "Spring", and genre is "free to select".
However, the "Songwriting Competition" (SWC) over on mix-challenge.com runs for 24 days and not 27 days as the Music Cafe Songwriting Competition (MCSC) does here on KVR. Else, the rules are just as simple, and it is actually mandatory to give feedback to each other during the voting process (else - disqualification).
Here is the (planned) intro text that will set the tone of the game
What do you say?
One production, but be able to submit to two places and even get a chance to win something in the process.
In fact, the theme and genre for the May 2018 SWC will be announced on 1st April at mix-challenge.com, so you can get ready for a release in time. Our communities could collaborate more than once - if you want to. In fact, I'd definitely look forward to that.

This month we're celebrating "The Start of Spring". All negatives aside (like allergies, and part of the globe still observing winter), no more snow, finally more hours of sun and beautiful colors everywhere. So why not turn this uplifting feeling into music?
Create a production in whatever genre you feel like. Maybe even turn your usual work on it's head and go a complete different direction you'd usually go for. But most important - be creative and have fun!

Hi Victor:
I'm actually considering entering this contest (will be my first one). I am a little fuzzy on the tagging section of the rules. Do you mean the MP3 itself has to be tagged in the details section? I'm not sure there are even enough fields to do that.
A clarification on tagging for us first timers would really be helpful. An example would be even better.
Oh, one other thing. When you say must be created with audio plugins or software studio, are those the actual names of the software? Because I don't own any of them. I use Cubase 7 and various VSTs.

The tagging is just so the name and artist comes up on playlists etc. I do it in audacity when exporting like so....wagtunes wrote:Hi Victor:

But there are loads of programs (free) where you can amend mp3 tags afterwards. I'm sure others will recommend the good ones.
I think you're taking the other bit a bit literally! It's just a list of stuff you used, like in the previous contest here;
