I put a new song in my music website called "We Need Jason Bourne". Please tell me how you like the song and how it can be improved (and I can return the favor if you wish; leave me a link). The song is at the top of this link:

My Feedback
Music - 9
Instruments - 9.5
Performance - 9.5
Mix - 10
Overall - 9.5
Comments: Been a long time since I heard a hard rocker here. My only complaint, and I do mean ONLY complaint is that I had to turn up the volume control on my sound card. Seems you mixed this lower in volume than most tracks here. Usually I have to turn stuff down. Anyway, very cool tune. Love the synth bass on this one. Real drums or EZ Drummer? Really can't tell. Very well done. What kind of FX on the guitars? Sound great. Mix, aside from being soft, is really good. Everything crystal clear.
Anyway, my latest (if you want to check it out) is Sugar Pop. Make sure you get your insulin shot first.

Thoroughly enjoyed that!
Shades of quite a few old bands in there...Iggy Pop and Co, early ZZ Top with a sprinkling of Depeche Mode and Gary Numan just for starters!
Wasn't overly keen on the rapid fire machine gun effect that happens a few times towards the beginning...maybe just the once was enough for me.
I thought the central synth solo was a bit too tame for the track's overall vibe..particularly rhythmically speaking...needed some faster driving notes at times for me.
Those are VERY small points though...great vibe and a well-constructed electro-rock song with appropriate vocals.

Can't hear it. Nothing happens when I push the play button. 'Song is playing.' Now.. that's some great indication a song 'is playing.'

No, it seems there's a play buttom at the bottom of the screen.ChamMusic wrote:PopUp blocker?Woodgardens wrote:Can't hear it. Nothing happens when I push the play button. 'Song is playing.' Now.. that's some great indication a song 'is playing.'

That's odd...the PLAY button on mine is in the middle next to the track title and thumbnail picture!Woodgardens wrote:No, it seems there's a play buttom at the bottom of the screen.ChamMusic wrote:PopUp blocker?Woodgardens wrote:Can't hear it. wagtunes,
Thank you for your review, I really appreciate it! No real drums. Very close to EZDrummer: toontrack Rock Solid EZX operating within Superior Drummer 2 (with u-he Presswerk compression). For guitars: during the verse I have BIAS FX (trial version) effects and amp model for the left rhythm guitar; on the right rhythm guitar I have Mercuriall U530 Free (yes it is really free!) amp model. All U530 during the chorus. I record the final mix at close to 0 dB peak, but I don't use much compression (just some on drums, electric bass, and vocals; none on the overall mix): that's why it is not very loud. Loads of compression can be very fatiguing for me. I will now listen to your sugary song.

ChamMusic,
Thank you for your comments, I appreciate it! I totally understand the bands you mentioned: they are amongst my favorites, and consider them all influences. I will now seek out your music.

Woodgardens,
Perhaps using a different browser would work. Or if you are in a different country than the U.S.A. or England it makes a difference?

@Aaron Aardvark
It's working, but I did not expected a small bar at the bottom to push the play button. Holland, Andoid, Chrome.
When I click on a song, another page shows up and one of the boxes on top of that page says 'now playing', while it isn't. Curious, when I push play at the bottom, the song starts immediately.
About the song, I also don't like the fx too much. That said, I would not put any synth at all in it. More like a little guitar solo here and there, and add small phrases to accentuate the chords. To create more contrast. However, I guess that's not your intention.
Think the song itself is good. Otherwise I would not react. I try to mix guitar and synths myself in dance music (the other way around), but it's hard to really make them work together.

Woodgardens,
Thank you for your diligence and your review! I will now seek out your music.............after spending several minutes, I couldn't find a thread with your music. If you have a song you want me to review, leave me a link.

the sci-fi is odd, don't like that part.
The lyrics are obscured, probably the accent, but what i did hear is anarchist IMHO. Mick Jagger is the closest this comes to rock, that and the odd guitar Solo.
