Exotic guitar melodies, a smattering of dub effects, and an electronic bed somewhere between krautrock, synthpop, and future bass.

Everything that's not a guitar here comes from Aalto, including all the drums:

firstly , it's nice to hear aalto in use ; i'm a big fan and use it often ...

i've listened and commented on some of your previous work , and i really
like what your doing ... i'm getting a distinct blues/fusion root from your work ,
and your guitar brings to mind some early adrian belew , and harvey mandel ...

your mix is clear and your tonal spectrum well crafted ...
excellent work ...

Thanks so much for listening! Yes indeed, I'm a prog rock/fusion guitarist at the end of the day. :)

These are the first tunes I've mixed that use Aalto, so I'm still figuring out the best way to present it in a mix. Amazing synth, through!

Thanks again very much. :)

Are the guitar parts on all of these tracks played on the Spalt? They all seem to share a common sonic character that suits your music. This track seems a lot more "laid-back" and relaxed than the earlier pieces, but is no less interesting for it.

"years in the making" - that seems to be working out quite well.

Good work :)

I think the Spalt *might* be on the bridge section at 2:14, but I don't remember. Most of this track is with a two-humbucker Reverend, and most of Wounded Birds was a three-single-coil Reverend. The Reverends and the Spalt are all chambered/semi-hollow, so they're similar in a lot of ways.

I think part of the delay is because this material is all very melodic, and very lead guitar-oriented... and for large stretches of the last several years, I've felt very self-conscious about that kind of thing. For whatever reasons, I've been in guitar land more recently, so that - combined with the lockdown - made now a good time to finally finish this stuff.

I definitely wouldn't want to do every project this way, but having the stuff marinate for this long has definitely been an interesting experience...

Thanks again so much! :)
