Brief description - Safar is the result of 14 music producers' efforts over a duration lasting almost 2 months. The project is based around the theory of psychological reactance. It began as a way to test how creativity and inspiration manifested itself in different ways for different artists given the same starting points.The Epoch of Dali is the first offering by Safar, a group of 12 music producers from around the world. The project was inspired by a painting that featured different emotions being translated into sound. Every producer was required to submit 2 sounds each and a total of 24 sounds and samples from 12 producers were deposited into a common sample bank. There were no limitations in the devices we could use, genres, or track length. Ranging from techno and electronica to breakbeat-infused grooves and ambient soundscapes, it is a testament to what inspiration and creativity in the spirit of community can offer.
