start a new thread in this forum, if you'd prefer.
Well here is the new thread. :)

It seems that lately there are many releases of new midi fx plugins and such. Because of Colin’s ambitious developing I am holding off buying anything midi as my hope that Architect will cover some or most of that ground.

This is my Feature Request list for Architect.

I would like to see something similar to Cubase Logical Editor, https://www.youtube.com/results?search_ ... cal+Editor
Transformer and Input Transformer https://www.youtube.com/results?search_ ... tranformer
That capability but easier to use if possible.

Graphical Midi List Editor with sorting and is fully editable. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_ ... +editor%22+

Compositional tools especially chord related.
Chord Progression Generator. I suspect this is what Colin is currently doing.
Chord Progression Generator with real time user tweaking.

Musical Randomizers similar to Absynth’s Mutator https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/na ... -absynth-5

Midi piano roll creative note and pattern painting in the style of FL Studio Paint mode and Liquid Music by WaveDNA youtube.com/watch?v=Jf-SrVhcxiU

Multi-touch capable and friendly.
X-Y pad. Perhaps several if multi-touch is available.

Alternative Midi Keyboards. Examples https://www.google.com/search?q=alterna ... 1&bih=1087

Emulate some iPad midi apps such as chord progression, keyboard controller and midi fx. Invite the app developers to contribute to Architect. https://www.google.com/search?q=top+OR+ ... ax%3A&tbm=

Many presets or patches. The more the better!

Glad.
That Architect can host VSTi midi fx.

Don’t
Spend time on arps as there are some great ones out there already. That is unless you can produce something noticeably better. One of the best arps the Blue arp is free http://graywolf2004.net/wp/

Check out the midi fx list for ideas:

Note:
Check out Temper midi sequencer. http://www.angryredplanet.com/temper/ now it is free. I have not used it but have read only good things about it.

I am looking forward to the release of Architect!!!

Thanks. All decent suggestions, some of which are already in development, some of which were already on my feature list, and the rest of which I've added. I appreciate the links, too, which saves me having to ask for clarification for terms or concepts I'm not familiar with.

Colin,

Keep in mind my suggestions are made from a person that works with presets and then tweaks them.
Love to randomize especially if the randomizer has a musical sense.

As for the iPad midi apps I suggested it as they are the most innovative now days. Most developers have ignored the multi-touch capability in Windows. Juce has not.

My feeling is to release Architect very soon with what you have, making a list of capabilities and features. Add a promise and a time table of what features are to be implemented in the future. I will very like buy. Hey I bought Melda Sound Factory on the promise that Vojtech would add the Sampler module soon.

Looks like there will not be any more FR.

That seems to chime with what I'm hearing too: better touch and multi-touch support has been one of the most asked for improvements.

I am stuck, not completely unhappily mind you, right now, sequencing in fl studio because overall it is one of the easiest piano roll editors and you can load the whole daw as a vst which means that you can harness the piano roll and anything else embedded in another host which perhaps doesn't have as good midi editing. It can also send and receive midi and audio which is cool.

This comes with some ergonomic drawbacks but it is still a good tool to have.

If architect had a really good piano roll I could stop using this approach. Or if architect integrates well with fl studio as a plugin maybe I could get all the power of both.

So can I write a lua script in architect that, for instance sends automation to a hosted vst? What are the limitations?

Does architect support midi drag and drop yet?
Still awaiting presets after nearly a year, that would be an achievement now. I own it but don't want to have to spend hours creating patches.

I really like FL Studio but I like Reaper, Cubase and Studio One my current main DAW a bit more. I had considered using FLS as a VSTi in my favorite DAW' s but never attempted to try it. When FLS as a VST you can copy and paste or drag and drop from FLS to the host DAW would be great. Is that the one of the "ergonomic drawbacks"?

If Architect can do most of what FLS does with midi I would be very happy abandon the FLS as a VST'i idea. Perhaps my features expectations of Architect are sky high.

Yes: you'd need to use two modules, the [lua script] module itself, and what is currently called the [automation] module. I guess it really depends on specifically what you want to do, but if you elaborate a bit I can probably make you an example preset.

You can drag MIDI files into and out of Architect from the MIDI pool window.
