Having a project that has around 20% of cpu , when clicking on abl3 to expose it's gui architect pauses the audio engine for a brief second and the cpu increases to 70% and back to normal .
This happens when the aux lane of the sequencer is routed to mixer parameter ( controlling abl3 cutoff ) ,when doing it using regular midi ( pack controller ) it doesn't happen

I have automated tests running for a build that I'm looking to get out today, so it's too late to get this looked into now. But I'll take a look as priority immediately after.

(Although, this may have been accidentally fixed already. I've changed the multicore scheduler to leave more resources for the UI. My first thought is that is what is happening here...)

Still happening in latest beta , using a verry lightweight vst ( microtonic) , automating decay parameter with a random source using the track mixer parameter .
Bringing up the vst gui , mutes the audio engine for a brief second
\When using midi cc to control a vst parameter it does not happen , so it's most def. has something to do with direct vst parameter that causes the overhead

OK, I'll take a look. Out of interest, does it happen with multicore turned off?

That's interesting: the problem isn't, then, what I thought it was.

I'll schedule some time for this on Monday. Hopefully recreating your patch should allow me to reproduce the issue myself. I'll post any updates (or requests for more information) on this quirk in this thread.

Well that turned into a massive effort, but in the end I manage to both replicate the issue (which was easy), and then fix it (which wasn't!)

The same issue was also there when tweaking knobs remotely connected to VST parameters whilst trying to open the UI, and that's fixed too.
