i updated a couple of the linux plugins that needed it, and i compiled most of them for the mac (not midi2qwerty, because i haven't looked up how to send fake keystrokes on a mac yet).

and maybe i didn't mention this earlier, but midiForceToKey can now transpose within the scale, and there's an option to use notes on a certain channel to control the transposition (based on distance from a selected root note).

update:

Image

- duration of mouse click == note length
- optionally send CC zero value on mouse up (i will make this adjustable, and per pad)
- drag & drop images (svg, png, gif, jpg)
- text labels
- adjustable color
- velocity/cc value is learned
- global scale factors for velocity and cc value
- right-click menu per pad for settings
- middle-click, ctrl-click, or popup menu item for midi learn
- some ugly svg icons will be included

i also made a midi monitor and a new energyXT1.4 MIDI chs comp replacement.

Image

this is also resizable, with scrollbars and adjustable color. i need to test it more with weirder midi messages.

i'll upload all these pretty soon in case anyone wants to test them.

Sure like to check out your new midiMon. And "a new energyXT1.4 MIDI chs comp replacement"?!? I use MIDI chs comps every day to help out my UF5. Thanks for looking at these tools again.

the MIDI chs thing isn't very exciting. it works the same as the built-in one, but it's a plugin so you can use it outside of energyXT. there are also hidden parameters to change the background color. there's also a non-gui version in the regular zip file now.

i haven't put in descriptions of all the possible midi events into the monitor yet...

but anyway, here they are:

Mostly I like that midiChs and midiMonitor are just a little bit sexier now. 'preciate ya.

midi16Pads is looking so good, the added functionality, the pretty factor, the way you can click on one pad and drag to cause a re-trigger with another pad, I could go on.

Nice.

i updated the midi16Pads again...

- now all settings are saved in fxb/fxb files
- by default it looks for icons named "1.svg" through "16.svg" in the MidiPadIcons folder
- option to clear icon
- midi triggering, choose note per pad (default 36 through 51)
- either use trigger velocity or saved pad velocity
- set input and output channel
- set "off value" per pad
- for notes, off value is used as release velocity
- midi thru setting

i think all i need to do now is to find/make some more (better?) icons to include.

the pads can now be used as x-y cc controllers, velocity of notes can be based on where you clicked, and note pads can send poly aftertouch...
