Watched episode 1 of the BBC's Tinker, Tailer, Soldier, Spy, last night on YouTube. It looked like the film has been at least partially restored, because the image was a lot sharper and less washed-out that it is on the DVD set I bought about 10 years ago. It's an excellent adaptation of Le Carrè's book, which is one of my favourites. I read that the actor who plays Ricki Tarr died last year. He was perfect as Ricki. And of course, Alec Guinness is perfect as Smiley.

A white screen that says Optimum no longer carries Starz, so time to figure out where I'll be
watching season 2 of American Gods
They replaced it with the f**king hallmark movie channel & the cowboy channel
& MGM network/Sony. They might have something worth seeing..

Just watched Bright on Netflix, surprisingly good for a Netflix movie, good production values,
an adequate, albeit predictably cheesy story. Modern day LA, with Orcs, Elves and Fairies,
many of whom are criminals. Enjoyable enough, for a fan of Shadow Run like myself,
even though the premise has nothing to do with the game world or lore.

Yes me too as a movie, but I didn't much like the lead guy[/quote]

I know what you mean... didn't exactly dislike him, just seemed that he'd wondered in from a different movie or something, didn't seem to know what was going on at times.
(The Last Jedi) It was OK but falling back on typical Star Wars action stereotypes - weak plot
There was a lot I liked about this film 'around the edges' (subplots, motivations, shift of focus for a SW film etc) but the main plot was pretty threadbare.

I just thought he came across as an arrogant immature prick and not remotely heroic; Laureline was much better (although different from the comics - apart from the fact that she was always the smarter, more ethically centred, one)

Was watching a documentary on what the world will look like 60 years from now. They interviewed lots of leading scientists and researchers.
I always thoughts I would like to live hundreds of years, but after watching that documentary I think I want to be done at a normal age :?
Funny how those experts are looking forward to things that sound like a nightmare to me...

Absentia (making allowances for the low budget, pretty good; I enjoyed it).

The Breaking Point (not bad; John Garfield never disappoints).

1408 (partly okay, mostly so-so) and Goke, Body Snatcher from Hell (not bad; interesting and enjoyable).

Paranormal Activity 2 (one or two effective scenes, otherwise dull dull dull).

Paranormal Activity 3 (I don't know, better than 2, I guess; no more of these for me).
