Recording separate USB devices on separate tracks (Multitracking) using Waveform or Pro Tools?

I'm trying to multitrack several USB devices on my MacBook using both Waveform and Pro Tools and can't seem to pull it off. All my devices are recognized, but in Waveform I can't get them to be assigned to individual tracks and Pro Tools First won't open in Catalina. Any suggestions?
