there's no standalone max for live, if you mean Cycling '74 Max, then no, Max 8 (currently 8.1.10) is not yet native Apple Silicon - so i very much doubt any max4live version is, since not even vanilla Max is native, let alone all external objects and libs.

Ok thanks so it's very likely we're into another misleadingly tagged Universal 2 Binary product...

every app built with max has max runtime embedded :) so i think we can be 100% certain it's misleadingly tagged.

Max for Live only runs as Intel on my machine. In fact, the latest version of Max only runs as Intel too.

You can use Crossover or Parallels. Parallels is M1 ready and allows you to run a Windows Virtual Machine on Mac. Probably won’t install interface drivers though.

Depends on what you are trying to do.
No, Parallels is not M1 ready. They have a technology preview that will only run ARM VMs. In the case of the ARM build of Windows, one can try to use Microsoft's x64 emulation from within an ARM VM, but it is horrendously slow. Useless for audio.

Please do not report non-music apps here. There are a ton of those, but we are only interested in DAWs, plugins, and related tools
