Anyone know about this for RAM and how it might impact music software?

Apparently 4 DIMMS are better than 2 , so 4 X 4 Gb is better than 2 X 16

Looks like it's pretty neglectable. Even for gamers. The impact on running audio apps will probably be even less.

At least I wouldn't spend a thought on it, when 50 € more on the CPU can already buy me a multiple of that.

Agreed there is a theoretical difference but it's so small you wouldn't actually notice it when using a program. The most important thing for music is cpu single-core performance

For a daisy chain dual channel memory controller:

-The best is two RAM sticks double rank.
-Two RAM sticks is more compatible and two double rank
have more bandwidth than two single rank.
-Four single rank will have more bandwidth than two single rank.

I think they are single rank but the daisy chain effect makes a performance improvement but after all i've been reading, as was said, its not really a massive performance increase and for music really isn't something I need to think about, so I will go with 2 sticks in dual channel.

it will hardly make a difference honesty, just allows a bit more bandwidth to be used
