Well, this is my first ever film score. lol.. I used RC, Cthulhu, Reaper, Ik Multimedia libraries, Garritan IO, and, EZ Keys for this. The project was conceived in Rapid Composer and elements from Cthulhu were added in RC via Reaper. The video itself was edited with Reaper as well.

This is just a test project to get familiar with everything that I have so far. The clip is from a game I play on the PS4. Nothing real fancy, but, it is an action sequence from a WWII flight game.

The music follows the sequence of events in the clip, so, it is telling a story musically. It starts out with music that implies going into battle with some reservations, then, the music changes to a feeling of "on the hunt". After the first encounter, the music then goes into a chase, with a victory. Then you hear a sense of fear from a nearby enemy, with relief that a friendly was near to help. From there, the music changes to desperation, trying to get back home. Then it ends with a sigh of relief that you make it home.. All that done with music. lol so, thanks and enjoy! I titled the music "Battle in F Minor"

Nice! I also use RC for orchestral music. Very good for such if you know what you need.

The Garritan libs are very underrated imo and own many other good ones.

Nice film music, BluGenes!
Writing film music and creating moods is a difficult task, but obviously not for you. ;)

Thanks for posting!

Thanks everyone.. Like I said, it was my first try, however, for the past year, I have been all over the web learning about the process.

I actually play blues guitar, which, in a way really did help me. The reason I think is, in blues, you play with musical words that make a musical sentence. Most of the time, you hear it as a call and response, whether it is the same guitar part, or interacting with a singer or other instruments.

Scoring is pretty much the same way, sort of. I am trying to build a midi vocabulary now with not only the moods, but, the musical representation of situations. Meaning, musically, a comedy chase scene would differ from a drama chase scene. I still haven't found any one single source like this. There are just bits and pieces all over the web. I am surprised no one actually took the time to do something like that. (or I haven't found it yet)

Just curious... have you ever looked at the software Secret Composer?

Hi yellukhan,

You can find the demo here:
http://www.secretcomposer.com/Secret_Co ... mposer.htm

It seems it is not a downloadable demo, but the chapters are displayed in your browser.
