I have 2 suggestions to add...

1) how about a load dialog for the custom phrases? Meaning, a dialog were you can select or deselect what custom phrases you want loaded at startup and on the fly, e.g. re-load.. Thanks to someone creating some awesome phrases, the library is getting quite large and taking longer to load. I am sure there is a memory limit there too..

2) can custom progressions follow the same folder design as the other custom parts? Could it be possible to create a parent folder for the progressions and use child folders for each "group"?

OK, I think I managed to fix this strange crash when clicking in the Chord Selector. At least I cannot reproduce it anymore. We'll see in beta3 (expected in 2-3 days)... It crashed when the slash notes were updated, which were introduced in beta1.

Making the recent list wider to read longer file names would be good, as the file name in black only goes 3/4 of the way across the gray window.

Also, when you are Pasting phrases from the left to right over the chord progression, as the bars fill the last phrase that is pasted moves off the screen to the left then you have to scroll back to visually check that it fitted to that chord correctly.
If the last phrase pasted on the right of the screen didn't move off the left but became the first phrase on the left it would still allow you to check what you pasted.

ps. RC is great ! and getting better all the time, there is nothing like it.

When I have a progression with guitar phrases it would be good to mark the base low E by ctrl clicking on the side keyboard note to on/off the line display, this will allow for the high note octave to be marked also to the limit of the instrument's high note. When you transpose the Master track the phrases go out of the guitar's octave range then you need to go all through the progression adjusting them.

RapidComposer v3.6b3 is available!

Lots of fixes in this update, and some requested features have been implemented.

Improvements:

'Recents' and 'Templates' menus were reworked
When chord progressions are saved, name and group can be entered
New setting: Open Inspectors In Separate Window
New setting: Keep Inspector Windows Always On Top
In the percussion generator note lengths can be adjusted (e.g. for drum roll)
Fixed a crashing bug when clicking in the Chord Selector
Fixed a rare crash during window resizing
Fixed: notes on the piano keyboard were sometimes displayed with wrong font size
Fixed: preferred font size was not respected
Fixed: crashing issues during phrase generator preview fixed
Fixed an issue during MIDI file dragging when holding down the Ctrl key (phrase added multiple times)

just a quick notes..
Keep Inspector Windows Always On Top
--seems needs restart the RC to take the effect.
--also inspectors opens automatically when you click to a track or to a phrase..is this is intended behavior?

EDIT:
actually this Inspectors auto open thingy might be very useful if they will remember always their positions!
kind a Global Screen Set like.
ps: writing/thinking out loud while "Hyper Mode On"

Yes, this is described in the pop-up help. It should take effect on un-opened inspectors though.

No, you are right, if you close an inspector window, that should not open automatically.
I am uploading the same version again in 5 minutes with the fix. I'll edit this post when the new version with the fix is available.

EDIT: the beta version is re-uploaded, so the inspectors do not open all the time...

i need to ask one more thing in this subject,
when RC minimized to taskbar is it possible to minimize (hide?) all the separate browsers & inspectors too?

Big Problem:

With both v.3.51 and the new beta 3.6b3, when I open RC files using Recents, I get "Error Invalid composition file."

I don't get this problem with 3.6b2 (thank goodness).

(Mac OS X 10.12.6, most recent Sierra OS)
