I use a variety of plugins to create the tone I want for Shreddage. The problem is that a lot of the time, for some reason, the tone does not come out consistent. There are varying degrees of random dissonance in the tone. However, when I listen to the guitar part w/o and processing, just totally clean coming out of shreddage, I don't hear much variation at all.
Why is it that I don't hear much variation in the clean Shreddage version, but there's a lot of random dissonance in the processed version?
I want the tone to sound even and smooth and consistent. Is that possible?

I had a problem with this in the past. Tell me;
Are you using a proper limiter to even out the tone?
Are you using a multi band compressor to iron out those unwanted frequencies and keep your overall sound in check?
Is your gain turned up super high?
I ask this because there are a lot of things that distortion can impact in terms of quality.
