I had this posted but, I guess, in the wrong forum... so here it goes!

This is my latest project, as we are in lockdown... Meet "The Film Music Composer", a project of decoration for my music studio.

It features a MS-20 synth (in reality it is a VST controller for the Korg plugin), a tube preamp, 3-band EQ, M/S Compressor, Modulation/Delay, Space Reverb and a Patch Bay. It also includes an 8mm Film Editor.
I was inspired on my own VST plugins and their design. It was not a 100% copy as this was a vintage project, I had limited space to work and the paint was decided from the start: it would be gold, unlike my VSTs... And I decided not use any VU meter to avoid unnecessary complications with space on the back.

I used vintage materials and stuff I had laying around in the shelf from lost projects or unused.
The idea changed a bit from the original plan but the concept remained the same. The only thing I bought was the 8mm Film Editor that cost 30€ and half of it was for shipping costs...
This video is the complete process: from the idea to the final product. I hope you enjoy it!
Cheers from Portugal!

Ah! BTW, for the younger people who do not know the "composer", Flat Eric, here is his small story!
He was originally created by Quentin Dupieux in this video (with ears though and named Stéphane).
Note that the track main sounds were made with a MS-20!

Quentin Dupieux is a musician/film director and later Levi´s hired him (well, them both) and renamed it to Flat Eric (and cut his ears, I don´t know why) to do their most successful ad campaign (just search for it). Anyone who already knew himself by the year 2000 knows what I am talking about.
Quentin Dupieux also made the soundtrack for those ads.
This track was number one is the charts of several countries in Europe in 2000!

Cheers mate!
He is still having lots of fun here in the studio! I might have to give him a pair of headphones to keep him quiet! LOL!
