Useless grey bar at far right on mobile

All day today and last night I’ve been noticing the page can be scrolled to the right for no good reason. I finally examined what’s there. There’s a button (search?) partially clipped at the top right corner, and an empty grey bar running the full length of the page.

Not only does it look like something is broken, it’s making scrolling annoying (because gestures are sliding the page left or right instead of scrolling it up or down).

Edit: Safari on iOS 12.4.1, iPhone 6s.

Actually, I had stuff like that on Firefox on Android as well, but, on other websites. I have a feeling it's a resolution/viewport thing.

Same here. Android, standard Samsung browser.

Chrome on Xperia X phone has claimed the centre ground. There’s no far right grey bars.

Well wadda ya know, it's stopped doing it
