I started checking out TX16Wx since yesterday, and I got a great feeling about this.

A little background...
I put a lot of time into crafting sounds which are just too complex and CPU intensive to save as a track template. (working in REAPER) So I decided to evaluate the possibilities of sampling those sounds for later use in other projects.
The MIDI Generator is awesome and I was able to create a multi-sample instrument after some hassle. The biggest hurdle was the routing. To anyone reading this, sending the audio directly back to the TX16Wx track does not work. You need to create a child receive then it works.

3 questions though:
1) I set 'New Samples Format' to 24bit PCM, but after saving the instruments all files are 16bit. How can I save to 24bit?
2) Is it possible to directly save to flac?
3) Is there a way to have a non linear distribution of velocities, so that there are more samples in the 32-96 region and less samples on the edges? Some kind of Gauss distribution maybe.
Thank you & cheers

1.) Hm, maybe a bug. I will check.
2.) No. But maybe worth adding.
3.) Somewhat difficult to express in a useful way. I would suggest changing the velocity response curve on the samples instrument to map the desired distribution, and then do something similar (inverse) on the resulting program. But worth thinking about...
Could maybe have a "velocity-out" curve...

+1 for 2 ;)

New sample format should be respected now in latest beta build. I also added the option to save FLAC when doing wave "save as" , plus two new "new sample" formats: FLAC16 and FLAC24. Try it out.

Fantastic! I'll check it out tomorrow.

One quick thing... from time to time dropping files into the regions window does not work. Instead REAPER ask if I want to import. I don't know if this is a bug or some focus problem in REAPER. Just letting you know.

About the drag and drop thing... I found the problem.
I have all my samples for the instrument in one folder and I always select all of them with Ctrl+A .
When there are non-audio files in the folder (e.g. reapeaks) and you drag & drop TX16Wx won't accept them.
Maybe just filter out files TX16Wx can't import?
Cheers :)

Right, at the moment the criteria is "all files can be imported", but maybe "some can" would be enough...

New update. Drag and drop now imports the most it can find in dragged file set.
Saving a program + waves will now preserve FLAC format if source material is FLAC
Saving a program + waves will now use format in "new sample format" if source is not a saveable format (ogg, mp3 etc).

Holy shit! :o
Where would I download the update?

It says...
Modified April 2, 2020 :?:

As stated before, the beta section does not get "normal" releases, with date updates. Check the version on the installer/installed version against the sticky post on 3.4 version number.
