Embertone Vibrato Controls

I having trouble figuring out how the CC numbers work with this. What is it that determines the vibrato style? The style seems to change all by itself. Eg. I have one extended note where I want an open string. I will set that manually on the main page, but it automatically changes to "gentle", (which doesn't sound very good a low speed). Giving the vibe style a CC #3 and moving the curve up and down doesn't even find "open string". I also don't understand the keyswitch assignments. I chose B0>D#1, but using keys on these notes or any in between have no effect on the vibrato style, whether the CC # is turned off or assigned to a number.

The effect does not seem to be automatable.
