I love some trip-hop and RnB here!

this was a mix-off.
regarding T6 I went after a more commercial, old-school rock'n'roll sound with clear vocals.
I have nothing to do with the recording and production.
~70 tracks, massive freezing, massive side-chaining comp.

another mix-off.

only T6 and legally free plugins were used. some were free for a short time as an introductory gimmick by the vendor.

both songs had very challenging dynamics to keep under control.

This in in W9, Drums were various REX loops, Bass Guitar was NI Scarbee Bass into GR5, Guitars were REX loops into GR5, was able to use NI Rise and Hit at the first transition, Vocals were from a female vocals sample pack that I pitched down and stretched to get a Fever Ray vibe. I used the pattern generator for the first time to get the bass line started. That's a really cool way to get things moving.

Let me humbly announce that I made it to a commercial release, though the topic here is the B-side.

(Both songs mastered by Zino Mikorey, Berlin.)

Lenny K (which is kind of a tribute) was mixed by me entirely ITB with T6 and free plugins only. LittlePlate is part of the mix, as the vendor gave it away for free during a few days, to introduce their new product series.
MeldaProduction free bundle plays a big role. Also TDR Nova and Kotelnikov, and many more good, free stuff, some discontinued sadly at 32bit level.
At the end, before mastering, there was a minimal overdub with the organ sound.
(Thanks to the artist Lightworker*T and Guenther, the mixing engineer, for job, specs, help and advice to get it done. The A-side, Palm Trees song was mixed in the project studio by the artist, Guenther and me on Cubase 7.5)

I had created quite a complex bus structure with side-chaining and parallelizing.
Plz note, that any sound you hear in my mix, was played and sung, including all drums and percussion. There are no samples at all in the whole mix (the organ was a NORD).
At the end I can say, it is entirely possible, if one has patience and a clue about engineering, but things go faster with the expensive stuff.
So, what I did is testing the bridging from zero cost to pro. I can encourage everyone to give it a try.

One Night in Bangkok [Bitpop/Chiptune] - Tribute to Murray Head & Chess
https://youtu.be/NzXDt69_XYY

Made with the sounds on the Commodore 64 - 6 Channels

There's two thing guaranteed to make you humble, The Iron Sheik and a night in Bangkok. Given the choice, I'd prefer the latter. :)
The chorus extol Bangkok's reputation as an exciting city while the verses are dismissive. Two members of ABBA were involved in the writing and production of this song.

This was a fun song to do.

Crockett's Theme (Miami Vice) [Bitpop/Chiptune] - Tribute to Jan Hammer
https://youtu.be/VYBwUUzCfhA

Made with the sounds on the Commodore 64 - 6 Channels

I love Jan Hammer's work and not just his music in Miami Vice. Particularly his music in Vanishing Son. That said, he's probably best known for Miami Vice and out of his work on that series, Crockett's Theme has to be my personal favourite.

Mission Impossible [Bitpop/Chiptune] - Tribute to Lalo Schifrin

https://youtu.be/Oh6CpcmrkPY

Made with the sounds on the Commodore 64 - 6 Channels

The theme is written in a 5/4 time signature which Schifrin has jokingly explained as being "for people who have five legs". However, a more likely explanation is that Schifrin started from the Morse Code for M.I. which is dah dah dit dit. If a dit is one beat and a dah is one and a half beats then this gives a bar of five beats exactly matching the underlying rhythm.

In 1996, the theme was remade by U2 members Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen, Jr. for the soundtrack to the film.

Mony Mony [Bitpop/Chiptune] - Tribute to Billy Idol
https://youtu.be/ZqnQ6tdugRY
Made with the sounds of the Commodore 64 - 6 Channels

“Mony Mony” means nothing – literally nothing. In the late ’60s, Tommy James and the Shondells crafted the tune as a party song, with an emphasis on the beat and little thought given to the shout-along nonsense lyrics. Was “Mony” a girl? Was “Mony” a command? Was this a secret reference? Actually, none of the above. It was an acronym for the Mutual of New York Insurance Company (M-O-N-Y), whose illuminated sign gave James the idea for the title of the 1968 hit.

But to William Michael Albert Broad – better known as Billy Idol – “Mony Mony” always meant sex. That’s because when young William was 14, he lost his virginity in a public park via a tumble with a more experienced partner. He recalled in his autobiography, Dancing With Myself: “As we went at it, ‘Mony Mony’ by Tommy James and the Shondells was playing on someone’s transistor radio nearby…”

My 2nd track that is "almost" complete, created in Waveform-9 on Linux Mint. This is my 1st attempt at using the chord track features.
I also recorded my Dual monitor setup which shows how convenient it can be to have the mixer in a separate window...
