moving and snapping of MIDI notes

I've read all the documentation I can find relating to snapping in Tracktion and so far I'm left wanting as I can't get it to work to my liking.

From what I can gather, the way it is supposed to work currently is you need to have 'snap' turned on in the properties panel and then MIDI notes should snap to the divisions show in the timeline and somehow Tracktion is supposed to be able to pick the most suitable snapping division, but how could it ever hope to do that 100% reliably? How would it know if I want to snap to 1/2, 1/3, 1/6 or 1/16 of a beat or to snap to every other beat or whatever? No matter how much I zoom in or out, it doesn't offer me any form of triplet snapping.

Hopefully I'm missing something here but otherwise I'd like Trackion to snap the moving of MIDI notes to the value currently selected in the current tracks MIDI note length dialog rather than having to zoom in and out and mess with resizing or quantizing notes to try to align them properly.

Thanks!

Maybe this could be implemented as a new snapping menu option - 'Snap grid to note length' or similar?

Someone on the LinuxMusicians forum pointed out the triplet option under T5's time signature properties so that answered one of my questions but it doesn't fix the fact that Tracktion's snapping when moving MIDI notes is usually too fine for my needs so I spend more time zooming and moving notes than should be necessary.

I suspect part of this prob is that I'm using a Full HD display and those using Tracktion on relatively high res displays may end up with this same issue.
