Warp Time is also available one of the new Clip Effects. You can expand it a bit more when used that way.zentatonic wrote:Thanks. Wish we could expand that little editor a bit. I'll buy a T7 guide today to learn more.gigazaga wrote:Yes, it's called Warp Time.zentatonic wrote:Does T7 have any type of audio quantize/transient detection? Sorry if the sounds OT. I figured this would be a good thread to ask.

I just pushed a new update. This represents a full editing pass on the text of the entire book. That resulted in the following kinds of updates:
1. Corrected numerous typos
2. Improved style consistency
3. Removed incorrect references to T6
4. Added crosslinks to referenced chapters
5. Improved wording and clarity of the descriptions
I have been working on this gradually for several weeks. I recommend all readers down and use this update.

Really appreciate the updates Bill...the book was definitely one of my smarter purchases lol. I leave it open in the background for reference all the time

Hi Bill
I've just purchased your guide to T7 and it's superb - clear, concise and highly readable with a wealth of information that could only otherwise be gleaned from hours of experimental noodling. Nothing wrong with experimental noodling, of course, but more often than not I just want a source of information that explains the concepts/workflow/features of a DAW so I can get on with making music and enjoying it. In short, it's invaluable stuff and a job well done. Many thanks for all the time and effort you spent in producing it. Balls to the naysayers.
All the best
Matt Thurgood

Just wanted to echo what Matt said: I bought the book and it was well-worth the money and the time spent reading through it. I use it as a reference as-needed. Very useful if it's been a little awhile since I used an aspect of Tracktion and need a quick refresher, as well. Thank you for writing and maintaining it.
Fingers crossed for a Waveform Guide

This being my first time getting a Tracktion guide, I opted for the $0 price and must say I've thoroughly enjoyed it! However, I must have gotten the one before Bill's recent updates because there are quite a few typos. That being said, it didn't take away from the amazing learning experience I've had. Bill really knows his way around Tracktion, and I can't wait to see what he has to say about Waveform. Knowing what I know now, I'll gladly throw down some change for a Waveform guide!

I hope Folks throw Bill some cash. There's ample commentary in this thread on the value of this work, and I can't tell you how many times I've referred to this in a pinch. It's invaluable.gigazaga wrote:

Although I have only recently discovered Waveform, therefore using version 9 ,I thought I would support the author with a few dollars for his effort alone and I'm sure I will still find the book relevant , thanks

That is a thoughtful gesture; I always wondered if he was ever properly compensated for that work.mikoatkvr wrote:Although I have only recently discovered Waveform, therefore using version 9 ,I thought I would support the author with a few dollars for his effort alone and I'm sure I will still find the book relevant , thanks
I do believe that the official Waveform 9 manual is actually an updated version of this very same guide.

@gigazaga Might be time to think about a hardback book for Waveform9 or version 10 ( if that is just around the corner ? ), I for one would enjoy reading it on my lunch breaks at work or generally when on the go... Maybe a crowdfunding project could be set up and to test the waters 1st there could be a poll to see if there is much interest before chasing the idea any further. thanks
