Reaktor Ampere collection was inspired by the Nord G2

Then there are blocks of course but more Eurorack inspired
Outside Reaktor there is Wren which looks like an attempt at a G2 clone

The usual suspects will flame me for this but.. no. Nothing available as vst sounds like the Nord Modular unfortunately. It really depends how fussy you are I guess but I've never found anything in the same ballpark. You could use the demo version (if you don't have the hardware).
Apparently there are ways of getting it communicating with a DAW. Start here if you want to investigate that.

Just like any hardware synth - use the audio outs into an audio track to record audio, if you also want to control it from the DAW using midi then use the DAW midi out. If you want to also use the G2's sequencers to drive a softsynth the G2 also has a midi out.

Do you have the audio outs from the G2 connected to your soundcard inputs?

I have one of these. It's so great yet so ahead of it's time that it was slightly forgotten even by Clavia.

It doesn't run without it unless you mean the demo - which isn't made to be recorded.
