TL;DR - Modular synth with source code, cool item but takes some work. Not casual.

Greetings,

I've been working on a Linux version of BespokeSynth, an open-source modular synth made with the JUCE framework. (I'm not the author, btw.) The Linux build didn't take much work, I have a working standalone and a non-working VST2. Still working on the VST. OTOH, the synth itself can host native VSTs, adding more fun to the fun:

Source code is available at https://github.com/awwbees/BespokeSynth. A compiled version for OSX is available, but the code should build for Windows too.

The synth has a lot of neat features, including lots of generative and processing modules for audio/MIDI output. However, the author is clear that the project is a work in progress, that bugs and dragons still exist in the code. There is some outdated documentation that is still useful, and there's on-line help in the program that should clarify at least the most basic operations.

Best,

Looks like a good one but precarious:...” I can't currently see a future where a fully-stable and mostly-bug-free release would happen... maybe when I retire. Watch this space in 2050.”
I haven’t gotten a machine set up with linux yet but it is inevitable at this point considering the alternatives, but this is intriguing.(generative and processing modules)
