So I been trying to figure out for weeks why my collection folders kept deleting, well most of them. I did everything by even completely Reinstalling Bitwig and I thought at first it worked after I made a bunch of test folders labeled 1-15 etc that were showing up for a bit. Well turns out that was not the fix.... After making my perm folders they started to disappear again !

What I learned is Bitwig makes a .collection file for any collection folders you make in a bitwig system directory. The files will be labeled what you name a folder/collection ".collection" So I had some collections named delay, amp etc. So I noticed the delay.collection file & the amp.collection files. then I noticed all the other collections I made had folders that nested. I will explain more .....

So here is the bug ....
If you create a collection named Chorus/phase/flange it will create the collection file nested in every name you use. meaning in the device folder where these files sit it will make a folder named Chours then a older within that named phase then finally in that folder a file named phase.collection. Point being is you cannot use any symbols besides plain text when naming collections ! I tried to use a few symbols in the text and it did the same thing. Can this be fixed or is this the way they want to have it ?

Any questions did I explain this right ?

Awesome you found the solution!!!
I would call it a bug. It should at least allow for the most common delimiters like "_" and "-" IMO (and convert everything else automatically to what is allowed or show a warning).

Good catch!!! :-) :tu:
