What a revolutionary concept that one might want to automate the change from Scene 1 to Scene 2 etc.

I'd find Scene Follow Actions super useful.

I'd also love to be able to have a scene track in Arrange that one could just add the scenes:

1 - 2 - 3 - 2 - 2 - 3 - 1 etc. Pattern based sequencing. Seems like such a no brainer feature to add. Live has not touched the concept of follow actions in many years.

Yeah, but there it's a mixed bag. You at least have the "Back to arranger" action which Live hasn't and there are also the post recording actions that allow for a kind of takes.
On the other hand you can't have groups AFAIK in BWS, where in Live several clips would be seen as separate group if there is a gap between them. Last time I tried BWS ignored those and you needed to create the groups on different tracks.
But yeah, still several areas that could use some love, thought and emancipation from the "big ol brother".

I just find this one especially stupid...

Actually... I just checked and there are new follow actions in Bitwig 2... they now treat groups as a block!

I wrote a feature request to Bitwig about that last year

AWESOME! I hadn't seen this yet, thanks a lot pdx ;-)
It's also cool to have both options separately, much more flexible that way...
Getting better and better!!!

ThomasHelzle wrote:Yeah, IMO it would be very easy to solve - just do the recording for tracks that have recording enabled when you want to jam in the clip launcher and record the jam in arranger.
Depends on how one proceeds. For instance, I build parts in the Launcher. Jam there. See how things work in there. Copy scenes, remove parts, play one scene after the other, see how things fits. All in the Launcher. Then when it looks like there's some potential to go further, to actually arrange and glue things, preparing for an eventual mix, I play (eg, record) the clips and scenes into the Arranger and work from then on from the Arranger.

At that moment record should be enabled on, say, 30 tracks one by one, to make sure they are recorded into the Arranger. Sounds a bit tedious.
AFAIK we can record arm any number of tracks with one click on "Toggle arm of the selected track(s)"

It's not that tedious considering you can shift-click to select a range of tracks. They

Have you submitted this to Bitwig as a feature request/bug fix, stamp? I have. The more, the merrier!! :)

Am I missing a recent fix for this?

I never really paid attention to this as I was just experimenting with my glorious new software I just bought and assumed I could turn it off when I started serious work. This is the dumbest shit ever. I feel such an idiot for not seeing this when I was demoing. Why is it overwriting my stuff on unarmed tracks? How is this remotely a sensible default? f**k this shit.

Am I doing it wrong? Does anyone have a video link to how I SHOULD be making tracks in Bitwig? Coz my way just got a kick in the teeth. I wanted a few loops from launcher running so I could record a part without distraction into arranger... POOF! Arrangement trashed. And the reason I was doing that was lack of loop recording!!

Just record into Clip Launcher.

I agree there should be a way to disable it, but it's not like you can't avoid it.

I can't see why any producer would ever actually want it to behave like this. Bitwig needs to fix this.

Thanks antic, but I'm still perplexed and furious about this. Perhaps mostly at myself for not noticing earlier. And sage, I wouldn't hold your breath... From the moment I handed over cash I've encountered A LOT of unanswered queries on the Bitwig | (un)Answers site and earlier in this thread someone explained going blue in the face trying to get them to understand the issue. Perhaps this shows a certain arrogance. I don't know. I've read wish-lists and thought to myself, really?! That stuff's not in already?

lol, yeah, bit miffed.

[another total head-scratcher is no forward/backwards buttons for the play-head. I can do it from a controller or jogwheel, I can drag the bar-number up and down, but no buttons? Not even a hidden keyboard shortcut (which is what I really wanted). I have to click mouse. WTAF?!?! lol]
