So far I have not been able to get this to work. I'm pretty new to Bitwig, so I hope someone here knows if this is even possible.
I want to modulate parameters of a synth on 1 track using ADSR's triggered by different tracks. The receiver module is the obvious solution, but I have not been able to get it to work. Is this possible in Bitwig?
Thanks

Waitwait? Can the note sidechain receive device modulations from another track?

Yes, just select the track and device you want to listen to in the dropdown:Taika-Kim wrote:Waitwait? Can the note sidechain receive device modulations from another track?
The same goes for Audio Rate and Audio Sidechain.

hey
so you can receive triggers from midi notes on that other channnel.
but is it possible to use/receive the modulation from lets say lfo1 on track1 ON track 3. so an element on track 3 being modulated by an lfo thats on track 1?

Well, if you really need that, you can use the LFO to modulated DC Offset device muted somewhere in track #1 in an Instrument Layer and then use Audio Sidechain on track #3 to get that signal in there, to modulate something else.ulverine wrote:hey

BTW, it would not be a bad idea if Bitwig added a Modulation Sidechain working on the same principle Audio & Midi Sidechains work, but being fed by other modulators on other tracks.

jes, a receiver should be abled to pickup modulators as well..or a "copy /paste relative reference" style for modulators. kind of "instancing/dependencies".
but in the end its just work arounds for an open modular node based approach i guess.

I'm pretty sure that what we see in Bitwig with devices, modulators, receivers/sidechains is ALREADY represented and editable in a node-based manner, we just don't know the key combination to access itulverine wrote:but in the end its just work arounds for an open modular node based approach i guess.

You can 100% accomplish this today with a DC Offset and the Audio Rate modulator.antic604 wrote:BTW, it would not be a bad idea if Bitwig added a Modulation Sidechain working on the same principle Audio & Midi Sidechains work, but being fed by other modulators on other tracks.
Just do this:
The DC Offset Out is available as a device to the Audio Rate mod, and controlling the DC works exactly like a macro knob controlling the parameter would, just via audio instead of CC messages.
You can set up a bunch of these in an FX rack to effectively remote control any track in your project from single parameter pages.
