Is it possible to create tracks with just audio fx? Maybe a nice community challenge? You can post your tracks/videos here if you want. The chain is powerful in Bitwig and would be interesting to see whith what people come up with.

Looks like you've answered your own question! Yes it is possible. :) Apparently everyone else is busy creating tracks.

Haven't come up with any tracks yet, but also interested. In the meantime I'm busy being fascinated at how the Klappeschlange preset turns a short downpitched vocal sample into a cavern of excited gnomes and trying to make out what they're saying.

This is a nice complement to the idea of creating sequences from a single MIDI note. Although, a true "track from just audio FX" could have been using FX to generate the excitation signal as well (audio rate LFO, modulated DC offset, Bit-8 as a noise source, etc.) but then it's almost gridnik territory where the line between a source and an effect is blurred even more. Then this would be an effectnik?

Like you said yourself — in the end it's all just WAV. Similarly, the generation process is just wavetables and delays. Although for someone who is prone to defaulting to these leaps it can be both freeing and paralyzing, the universe of possibilities is too big a place. These exercises and explorations help focus on concrete practical ideas and move forward, while building a catalogue of useful techniques. Thank you for having the energy to do this and share with the rest of us.

Sidenote: maybe one day Bitwig will take a cue from Jarre's Eōn app and take the next leap into the future by releasing a player, and then we can release compositions as dynamic interactive generative pieces.
