When I do MIDI learn, a menu appears in which I can select the mode that the controller sends. For example, relative or absolute.
But I only use relative (2's complement) controllers. Is it possible to program this in a controller script so that I don't always have to switch from absolute to relative? That the relative mode is selected immediately?

If you would be really lazy, you would use remote pages instead of Midi learn. Assign your encoders directly with the script... That is also more flexible and controllable... Midi learn is so 1984...

Everything has its advantages and disadvantages. I use the remote control pages, but as far as I know, a device must be clicked to operate the remote controls. But I need a remote control that always works without having to select tracks or devices.
