is there a way to hide email address after registering?

I find this to be really invasive, I don't want my email address displayed on the screen all the time while working in a coffeeshop. It seems unnecessary to me, I'd much rather have that space be blank. It also doesn't even display the full address so I get these ugly ellipsis:

Jokes aside, just PM or email me with any string you'd like to use instead and I'll generate a new serial for you and the string of your choice will be shown. Can't be empty. It needs to be unique and that's why I used the email address.
I'm sorry I do this to all customers, but the alternative would be even more invasive. Rest assured I am thinking about alternatives since years and maybe came up with something I like recently.
The email thing these days feels quite anachronistic, but on the other hand it has lead to some interesting events when my plugins were presented on YouTube by people who used faked ids.
