I believe Serum also had a flag in the wavetable header to know if it was a factory wavetable and those would not be embedded. I think it’s safe to assume factory wavetables are present.

Are these the same comb filters that will be in Zebra3? they sound extremely good and as realistic as any sound coming out of Diva

I sold Hive 2 because of poor GUI performance on macOS but everything is excellent now (Catalina, Reaper). Feels very snappy to use, opens within the second. And the comb filter is so fun, have not tried the others yet.

What is everyones trick to "mellow out" Hive without drowning it in reverb and effects? I often find that it is just a bit too energetic for most occasions - makes it sound impressive and modern, but i also would like it to sound lazy and laid back some times, especially for pads.

I try with drastic EQing but it is not enough to remove all the energy. Subtle phaser seem to help a bit. I also feel that the Clean mode is the most relaxed? (but i might be wrong)

What is everyones trick to "mellow out" Hive without drowning it in reverb and effects? I often find that it is just a bit too energetic for most occasions - makes it sound impressive and modern, but i also would like it to sound lazy and laid back some times, especially for pads.

When I want to "warm up" synths, especially pads, I tend to turn to BBD-based chorus and delay effects. Try something like TAL Chorus or Syntorus 2 in BBD mode combined with something like ColourCopy or ValhallaDelay (though that one, I prefer in Tape+Past mode for synths). Maybe throw in a 70's/80's chorus like the Relab LX480, ValhallaVintageVerb, or Relab's Sonsig.

That BBD Chorus plus BBD or Tape Delay and/or Lexi-style reverb is my go-to chain for warming up synths without EQ or saturation. The chorus and delays are usually dark enough to cut some high end in a pleasant way.

If you are using wavetables, that can also have a big effect on how much high energy there is. Some of them are very bright... If drastic eq is somehow not enough, then seems like you are starting with too bright an initial sound.

Great guys I just reinstalled a new machine from scratch, reinstalling my u-he stuff just now and seeing there's a beta version with Big Sur compatibility that's sweet!

It's incredible! I never ran a u-he product that fast lol. I could compare both official and beta since I reinstalled official first. Although beta shows 2/3% CPU use more on same preset vs. official, it's 2 times faster with M1! Incredible thank you so much. Will report here if I come across any bug. Hoping for a M1 beta for Diva too some time.

Excellent, I don't really know what I'm doing when it comes to comb filters/physical modelling style synthesis!
