...ehh cheer up mate, creating patches is not an easy task!
Some (good) patches may take from half an hour to a week (maybe more?) to complete.
It depends on the complexity of the synth and the patch being created.

Well, really simple patches can take a few minutes but I guess this is not the goal with patch contests.

i never thought it was easy, and to be honest, after listening to all of the patches, i don't think many of them sound as if much more time was put into them than mine.

Don't use Zebra to audition the patches!

Although it shouldn't be the case, Zebrify patches behave differently in Zebra.

Might have to be several Zebrify contests, for obvious reasons. Two suggestions:
1) the Amen Break
2) the first two (sung) lines of "Nothing Compares to You"
3) ?

Shouldn't it be up to the judge if they like the patch on their own preferred source material - or not ?

if it really had to be based on a pre-determined audio file/loop I'd suggest voting on a pool of them and using the most popular two for the contest. Maybe one of which would have to be rhythmic.


either way, too many rules with respect how to vote or judge the patch - besides simply personal preference - doesn't bode well with me
