It's Bitdefender's overzealous Safe Files option. Odd the warning is about my Icon folder. Disabling the Safe Files features allows the .exe to run.

Anyway here's a quick patch I banged out using your included .uhm file. I tried using one of the AKWF .wavs but that failed to create a usable .uhm file. I'll keep working on it....

Cool, I was hoping it would be something like that. Maybe it's trying to save the icon for the program.

The patch is great! What do you think og the idea?

Not sure what you're trying to do here.

Program updated to include six variables, plus NumFrames as a seventh variable.

Neither am I.....

I saw the "Load" button so tried to load one of the Adventure Kid Waveforms which I have used to make WTs in the past. I thought I would load a wav file then UHMate would make a table for use in Hive similar to your WT for Dune 3 but I see it's for loading script files. If I could make script files I wouldn't need the editor. :P

Anyway I like the concept but it's not something I'll be able to use. Just don't have the time or willpower to learn scripting.

You missed the point. :)

It loads an UHM, not a WAV.

"The idea is to load up a starting text document with variables in (in the example that I've uploaded there are 4 6 variables), use the GUI to change the variables and then export these as a UHM script."

Post

Almost. You load up a txt file containing the uhm script with placeholders/variable names that are changed using the GUI to generate a new him script for use in Hive.

The load button is for loading up text files with the dummy variables I mentioned earlier based on an existing script. The idea is to create such a GUI for different synthesis engines.

Here's a quick keys patch that I just knocked up using the newer version of UHMate.

This is the script that was created:

Code: Select all

Info "Feedback FM\nBy Mark Holt\n"

NumFrames=256

Wave target=aux1 "2*pi*(phase^1.68)"

Wave "sin(1*aux1+2.56*table*sin(2*aux1)/(1-0.687*cos(3*aux1)))

Spectrum lowest=0 highest=0 "0"
Normalize Metric="Peak" Base=each
I will try to find time to make a full 6op Yamaha DX style version of UHMate in the same vein today or tomorrow.

The coding is done. Just need to sort out the UI. It will be ready tomorrow hopefully!

Awesome!

Here it is: UHMate DX! :hyper:
UHMate DX.png
It can be downloaded from here:

https://charlesdickens.neocities.org/UHMate%20DX.zip

There are three files in the zip file. The exe program, a base text file (do not edit), and an example uhm script created by the program. To use the program, start off by loading the text (MH Yamaha DX.txt), twiddle some knobs and save your own uhm script.

Note, that the envelope times are all scaled internally, although this isn't refelected in the GUI. Also, this is only one algorithm! To use other algorithms then alternative base text documents will need to be made. I'll start working on some of these soon. The algorithm in this example is all 6 operators in series.

Please let me know if you spot any issues.

Cheers,

Mark

Note that the curve types can be changed by typing in the text boxes. Options are linear, exponential, logarithmic and quadric. There is also a knob to change the bit depth at the top :)

The feedback effect is slightly different to that of a real DX.
