Actually I really need to finish another SE project for someone else that I started a month ago before I get into anything else. But I have lot's of cool stuff planned.
If I make a four voice synth, and repeatedly play 4 note chords, sometimes only 3 or 2 notes play, other times 4 notes play. The same thing happens with an 8 voice set up. Another issue is that the polyphony selection slider always reverts to '8' when a project is reopened.

This is a seriously cool tool. I'm sure it'll be useful to lots of people out there. Thanks NicFit.
yeah...I'm not sure how to solve that voice allocation problem ...it helps if you don't play all the notes of your chord at the exact same time, but kinda "roll" into it. I'm still working on it though...trying different arrangements of logic gates, but not having much luck. I did some more work if you wanna download the latest...The CC messages, PitchBend, and Program Change is now echoed to all 16 channels and the Poly setting is remembered. Also I displayed the NDC MIDIChanneliser GUI so you can see the channels change.

Maybe SynthEdit hasn't got the speed in the midi routing to pick up quick successions of events? I might try and learn how to use the SDK in C++ one of these rainy days...

Nice work! I've just bought the Oddity, and it should be arriving tonight. It's great to know that this polyphony maker thingy is actually possible. I'll probably be able to use your vst as it is for slow pad kind of work. Thanks nF.

It's good to know they work :D ...does it take long to load in between parts? ...should I add a loading screen?

Nope they are practically instant on my machine. You might want to ask a dial-up user though.
The speed of them is fine for me. On dial-up you expect a bit of delay and after a while you stop noticing it

What I really want to do is save the flash tutorials onto my hard drive. That way I don't need to be logged on and can follow the tutorials at my leisure. Why is this an issue? To log on I need to:
(a) try not to piss off my wife by tying up the phone line
(b) trail a cable between 15 and 20 metres from the spare bedroom/study/soundlab to the only phone point in the house in the kitchen (which of course is annoying because you need to watch out for cables walking around the house)
(c) avoid getting distracted by "just checking KvR for a couple of minutes" and end up not doing anything musical at all

Can the flash be saved to the harddrive? I feel I should know this already, but for some reason I don't...

Cool! Thanks. Will have to try it. Pity it only works for IE, but you can't have everything. Anyone know of an extension for Mozilla/Firefox that does something similar?

there are ways of saving things from web pages. i had to download them all to watch at home (watching tutorials on this library computer doesn't feel right so i wanted to watch them at home). they are very very good and i recommend them to anyone!

i don't know how nicfit would feel about me giving a 'guide to getting straight at the files' (which i think is pretty universal) so i won't describe how. perhaps he might provide an 'intended' means of downloading them?
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

definately share your guide for other users to get these offline. I do plan a downloadable version, but it may be some time before it's done since I didn't have a proper plan from the start ;)

NicFit,

Thanks for the Flash Tutorials, they are a great help.

Also, thanks Rozzer for the download links.

In Internet Explorer 5.5 I used right-click and "Save Target As..."

Thanks Rozzer...just a note that the links at the end of the movies will still link to the website, and if you play back the flash files directly in your browser without the HTML, it will not resize correctly. For best clarity you should play them back with the standalone FlashPlayer...

I tried to join them all together and post a single self executable file for download without all the breaks, but it exceeded the limitations of flash, and wouldn't playback correctly...so it will probably endup being 5 or 6 different files.

Is the standalone Flash Player a free download or does it come as part of the Macromedia software suites? To me, the Macromedia website isn't very clear on this.
