Episode 33 speaking to instrumental Techno producer CJ Bolland! He’s realeased some of the most iconic electronic tracks ever made, including The Prophet, Camargue and Tower Of Naphtali - as well as doing a remix on the Prodigy’s No Good single and many others for the likes of Depeche Mode, Orbital, Moby and New Order.

He made the title track for the 90s clubbing film ‘Human Traffic’ - ‘It Aint Gonna Be Me’ with one of his greatest dancefloor tracks on the B-Side: Desolate 1. His track ‘Sugar Is Sweeter’ got the remix treatment from Armand Van Helden and became a worldwide dancefloor hit.

We discuss his early influences, his musical journey and the people, studios and stories which formed his incredible and influential sound.

Episode 35, speaking to Dave Spiers of GForce Software who specialise in modelling vintage synths as virtual instruments - bringing classic synths such as the OSCar, MiniMoog, Mellotron and ARP Odyssey to life, while faithfully re-imagining their design.

He was behind the PhatBoy, a MIDI controller which completely changed the landscape of controllers for both home and pro studios in the mid-90s - bringing 14 knobs for tweaking parameters on your favourite synth and sound modules.

As well as making award-winning software instruments, he recently produced a feature length documentary profiling eight companies with interviews and commentary from; I Monster, Michelle Moog-Koussa, Alan R Pearlman, Alessandro Cortini, Rick Smith, Karl Hyde and more.

In episode 36, we're speaking to Jim Coles aka Om Unit who’s a producer and DJ based in Bristol, England. He’s produced records spanning multiple genres for the likes of Goldie’s Metalheadz, Mike Paradinas Planet Mu and D-Bridges’ Exit records - and has DJed the world extensively. He’s also part of Dream Continuum and produces under the alias Phillip D Kick.

Jim also started out as a turntablist and also worked in community music in his early days. He teaches Music Production at BIMM in Bristol and recently released a new album entitled Acid Dub Studies. We caught up in March to discuss his career, diversity in the industry and tips for making sub heavy music.
