Bagpipes and beautiful voice leadings. Now that is something Tribe of Hofund can relate to. I am not going to post their newly released tune, it is boring and their voices sound all rusty and tired. However, this is a true classic in our ears and deserves a place in our catalog of inspiration sources.

Bagpipes in unison on fifth drones are a very powerful sound in my ears. It is exactly that power we try to replicate in Valkyrie, when the octaved bagpipes enter at the start. It has never been a secret that Benny Anderson has roots in folk music to which he returned after ABBA. I can relate to this return. Must say that they captured a very Scandinavian mood with this pearl back in the days.
