I only just heard that John Goodsall, the guitarist, and only original member of the jazz-rock band Brand X, passed away 11 days ago. I saw him live with the band 3 times in the late '70s and early '80s, and he was a talented guitarist, and a bubbly, humourous frontman.
Brand X reformed in 2016, recording three live albums at various dates in the US. I was hoping to see them in the UK last year, but the dates were postponed until 2022 due to CoVID-19.
John also toured and recorded with a wide variety of famous artists as can be seen on his Wikipedia page.

I'm sure we'll all miss the voltage-controlled aluminium bidet.
RIP John

Damn! Brand X was excellent for many reasons, one of them being John Goodsall's cheeky musicality. They were one of very few fusion bands that didn't take themselves too seriously.
