If you're building the list just for yourself, then I guess any criteria will do. But for the others, it's just...very confusing :) Agreed: Kontakt instruments are way more than sound libraries. I'm sorry if you don't see why the difference is so important...but it is. Anyway, good luck with this ;)

I am neither bothered nor confused by the differing formats. If your host can't play certain of the formats, you are free to start filtering my list and dividing it into separate sublists posted in other threads. ;)

Hopefully my libraries qualify as being good : ) If so, feel free to add SampleOddity

Some more you might include (which I miss especially in regards
to NI Kontakt Libraries):

Hideaway Studio:

http://hideawaystudio.wordpress.com/

ZapZorn:

http://zapzorn.com/

Forgotten Keys:

http://www.forgottenkeys.co.uk/

Evolution Series:

http://evolutionseries.com/

Excellent thread. This will have the "Look on my works ye mighty and despair" type longevity (I love that title). I predict this thread could end up becoming the yellow pages for sample libraries. I'm checking out companies posted here that I never even head who maybe aren't the most known but offer some great stuff. :)

If you want to insert www.hephaestussounds.com into the list, you can try some free sound and verify the sound quality.
