I was really excited to buy a Vengeance vocal samplepack. But then I saw you can't release anything commercially. So these $99 samplepacks are for personal use only? really? Or am I misunderstanding this? I hope I am missing something. This just doesn't make any sense, especially since they charge so much.

Vengeance Samplepacks
■WAV-files
■44.1kHz 16-bit stereo

Vengeance soundset
■SysEx-data for hardware (if appropriate)
■Bank-files for software (if appropriate)

You should ask Manuel if this is true.

I could understand that you must use the loops and stuff in your own work and that you cannot resell the original loops without modifications as your own work.

Maybe they added this restriction after one of the Swedish House Mafia guys went #1 using one of their construction-kits :hihi: But honestly, if you cant use their samples for commercial releases, then what's the point of selling the samples? They should re-think their products to reflect their concerns and not release loops with melodic content - or they should raise their prices to make up for loss of income from #1 hits.

Yes that would make sense! I hope this is just some sort of misunderstanding or poor wording.

I am sorry, tried a search here and didn't find the older threads. really strange..

in the german vengeance forum there is a thread about this topic. there are two kind of vocal samples in the packs. some require, that you mention the name of the singer/writer in the credits. others allow you to use the vocal shots without doing anything extra.

Which exact pack are you looking at? maybe it was a copy/paste error, that made the old COPYRIGHT/LICENSING NOTICE come up...

I was going to get "Studio Vocals Vol.1"

This is the license right on the refx page for all their libraries. (the one on the 1st post)
