I hear you Green!

It seems similar to IK Multimedia's "Total" bundles that don't contain everything such as the company's newest releases.

With NI's various Ultimate 13, Ultimate 13 Komplete and Ultimate 13 "Collector's Edition" it is a lot of brain space to Kompletely Komprehend.

Here is the Komplete 13 "versions" comparison page:

ShelLuser on NI did a nice write-up on content, here, YMMV:

I suppose there are two ways of looking at the this.
1.Their current software suite has reached such a maturity that they are now struggling to make meaningful upgrades and are afraid their revenue will dry up. (good news for current users) They may have one or two great new features to add, and rather than getting one last hit of the upgrade money they decided to switch to the subscription model. (not so good)
2. Development and upgrades continue as usual but those who do not want to spend a lump sum have a way of getting the latest and greatest on a subscription basis.

Just learned on the NI forum that all of these expansions are in Komplete Ultimate "Collector's Edition" except the following 9 expansions.
According to this Reddit thread, "Paradise Rinse" should be on that list, too.

There's also a link there to a YouTube video of a reviewer going through some of the expansion demo tracks and making some recommendations. You should see a few other "top" or "best" expansion videos listed on YouTube with recommendations in the comments, as well.

Funny, I couldn't tell at first if you were talking about iZotope or Native Instruments. ;)

Both companies have a lot of room for expansion into vintage emulations. It's a crowded arena but there's still room for improvement.

The expansion is not for K13 but it can be in the content in K13 or/and K13U or/and K13U GE.

I guess technically it comes with Nectar which makes sense, since it’s a vocal
Oh yeah definitely Nectar. Meant that.

I took the "18 for $198" deal, i.e. 2 times the deal, as I think 11 Euros for a pack is ok for the quality of these packs. So that's 18 packs I didn't have since K12 Ultimate.
I have stopped at K12U and I'm fairly sure they will again put all of the older ones in the newest Knn Ultimate. I have come to the conclusion that the Ultimate upgrade prices just aren't worth it for the small additions. Ok, I hear you say "you just spent 198 Euros". Sucks to be addicted to deals.

I decided to look into some live looping options using a dedicated DAW for this job and remembered ALK2 from ZenAudio from a few years ago - I couldnt get ALK2 to work on my pc back then as they didn't support Win 7, that was that for me after a few back and forths with ZenAudio to try to fix the problem, literally just wouldn't run despite some attempted workarounds.

Anyway, fast forward to an hour ago and I've just gone to their website to see if I can retry a demo with my Win 10 system and I see they have announced they are offering their software for free since they are closing shop, so thought I'd post it here for you bargain hunters looking to try new toys. For what its worth the concept of ALK2 was very interesting and looks like a fun and appealing way to 'pre-plan' a live looping jam.

The open letter from the founder is self flagellating (his words, not mine) which is an interesting read and the free software has been made available since February 2021 so its just happened really.

Here is the link:

Here's the website for info on the software at a glance:

Thanks for the heads up. I remember eying that software, but I couldn’t use it for some reason.

Now in on windows 10 and will definitely grab it.

I stumbled upon this: Auddict Perx Core $99 (https://www.auddict.com/percx-core)

I don't really know much about PercX. But I've seen it mentioned in "best percussion engine" type of threads. So is it worth the money? Are Auddict sales rare?

I have no idea when this sale ends, could even be a permanent one for all I know. (It's hard to tell these days with so many companies doing the "was $599, now only $49 for a limited time" thing every second week).

It’s a perpetual sale since release

Soundtoys PhaseMistress available for $29/29 € at the moment, from Soundtoys' site, or retailers.

I wonder how it is. Unfortunately, I can't demo it anymore...

Thinking about it, I think I'll pass anyway. No demo is not good with such a subjective thing. Especially phasers can sound from bloody awesome to total shite. Just like with all filters.
