Actually, I'd prefer them to default to high/lowpass filters, and, well, I've been here longer. So let's make that happen, m'K? :P
Oh, well, bduffy, I've been a member since 2001, so I'm da boss here. :x

j/k :P:lol:
Peace, my friends. I'm not seeking arguments here. ;)

... and if we were making some presets to be included in a default bank, wouldn't it be a neat way to please everyone (like "all digital", "all anapeak", "hp, peaks, lp"...) ?

BUMP for setting your own price for ddmf!

That might be something. I'll keep you posted...

Get bManic to whip up a dozen presets...that is always a good thing.

Eheheh.. presets on an EQ? I'm not sure I could do that and do justice to the great IIEQ plugins!

Cheers!

Worth a shot. I own it and enjoy the eq...

But let's face it, presets help sell plugins.

Yes, i know there is some strange philosophy with "no presets" for eqs and comps.
I was first thinking about something which could be more understood as "templates" -more than "instant magic presets"- : like : "basic low pass", "basic hipass", "all bands set to peaks", etc.
So you just don't loose time to set the filter type for each bands, just set the gain & freq and width yourself...
(But of course, if someone has some voodoo skills i am not against, even quite well favorable ! For example, i have never worked with vocals, and just start recording my voice, i'd be glad to find some starting points instead of just spending time trying every combination in a dumb way. Or also i have seen some eqs with rather advanced harmonic settings to get rid of humming withouth just cutting @ 50hz)
:)

Cheers !

PS : the same applies with compressors : most of the time i do all the tweakings myself from scratch, but i would be wrong saying that i have never learned anything by trying some presets and trying to understand how they worked and what there they aimed at....

I like presets, they're fun, and give you an idea of how developers and professionals use effects, be they EQ's, compressor or whatever! Also useful for beginners, or the situation sinkmusic pointed out.

I'm no bManic, but I could provide some presets for IIEQ Pro, if anyone's interested. (Kontakt 3 is ruining my day, I need something fun to do. :D )

My favorite application for presets is the way AirEq uses them...You choose an "Acoustic Guitar" preset and the numerical values of the frequencies turn to things like "Mud", "Fingers", "Air" etc. without actually setting any gain or cut for you...

Besides that, the only EQ I have with useable presets is Electri-Q...some of those presets are fantastic imho.

Hell, even WAVES makes a big deal about presets in their advertisements these days...I find them useful as I am not very adventurous in eq settings. For vocals, a standard highpass at 80 hz and a 2 db boost at 3k is all I'll do...sometimes a preset lets you hear something a little more "outside-the-box" than you'd normally try and is a learning tool...
