OK, so anybody else have any Cubase SX issues?

How do the mono's & or the multi comp-1 perform for you?

Jeez, I forgot to check the mono versions! Checking now... :dog:

Everything's fine except for the stereo versions of the FF and FB on mono tracks! Mutliband, for some reason, works fine on the mono bass track. The mono versions of the FF and FB comps are working perfectly, with slightly less CPU footprint, and they sound flippin' fantastic on bass!

Very happy boy here! Thanks, vieris! These will be getting some serious play around here! :D

Good to here. I'm glad thats it's logically consistent. So cubase is having problems dealing with stereo on mono tracks. One of Multi-Bands differences is that it has a frequency dividing stage before the compressor. If you could do a test for me i would appreciate it. I've created a simple mono to 2 channel Y splitter. Run this before the stereo compressors and let me know how it performs.

Download - 1in 2out.dll

signal chain test = mono track + Y splitter + stereo compressor.

I'll test it now. AFAIK, all Cubase tracks are actually stereo...or is it ASIO channels? Shoot, can't recall right now. Let's see if this works.

Oh, I generally don't experience any problems with mono inserts; in fact, I usually ignore mono versions of plugins, because I'm lazy. :D

HOLY FATHER MOSES!!! :-o

We are so spoilt these days!!! :-D

OK. You're not gonna like this: your 2-1 plugin doesn't affect the CPU-usage whatsoever; the stereo compressor on a mono track uses approx. double (maybe more) the CPU as stereo-on-stereo. Also, the mono version seems to introduce a massive amount of initial gain reduction compared to the stereo comp on a stereo track.

Bizarre?

Any other Cubase users tried these yet? Kritikon? You out there? :?:

Not really actually. Cubase for some reason is only feeding one of the inputs on the stereo versions. This is causing the other "lonely" input to do calculations of extremely low (blank) signals and causing your cpu to work harder. I don't know if you remember the denorimilzation problems when P4's 1st came out. Anyways that is besides the point. This is also causing the compressor to get only 1/2 of the peak level. That is why the levels are different. Whats the answer.

Mono tracks use the mono version.
Stereo tracks/busses use the stereo.

I'll dig around and see if i can find out whats up with this Cubase issue.

You know, that right: if I insert a mono version on a stereo track, only one side is affected; and that's true with pretty much any mono plugin. Huhn. Silly Cubase. :P

Thanks for testing..
I'm an ex nuendo/cubase user myself. They keep a very literal routing system. Not a bad thing necessarily you just have to pay more attention then most. Most other hosts will be like
"ohh your putting a stereo plugin on a mono track let me split the signal for you, or ohh a mono plugin i'll sum the 2 inputs for you".
(I just admitted i think my daws talk ohhhh man)

But anyways for peace of mind here is a screen-shot of Live with both the mono & stereo FF comp getting the same signal and the levels matching.

Cool, appreciate it. I wish Cubase talked like that; not sure if v4 does or not...

First: THANKS VERY MUCH!!! these compressors are really snappy. Great stuff, here vieris 8)

second- while on your site, I snapped up all the other goodies that I saw and while I have not had a chance to take most of the others for a spin, your ADSR really caught my eye. wonderfully useful device!
I've "rigged up" other things to do this effect in the past, but it's great to have such a completely straight fwd version of the idea :D ...

I only have one request: is there a way to make an "effect" version of this plug? Ableton Live sees it as an instrument and that is not really a problem as I've wrapped it in EnergyXT to get the "effect" effect... but (call me fussy...) it'd be quite nice indeed to use it on it's own (if it's not too much hassle)

definitely NOT a pressing issue (and sorry for jumping the thread )
you have been quite busy and it's MUCH appreciated. take a breather and have a great weekend :tu:

These Made with SynthEdit? Not that it matters just curious. They Sound Damn Great! Thanks 8)

Yeah & heavily relying on 3rd party modules.
