Congrats to the release of MidiShaper. As I liked the early versions, I've jumped in and bought this little gem.
Anyway, here's a feature request of mine: would it be possible to make the EGs listen to specific notes and/or MIDI channels only? That way I could trigger different LFOs with different notes/channels. This can be useful if MidiShaper does not listen to the notes of the track it's modulating, but to different notes.
E.g. in Reaper, I put MidiShaper on a dedicated channel and route its MIDI out to the modulated track(s). If I play a note on the MidiShaper channel, it'll trigger the EG and thus the LFO. But now I can only trigger all EGs at once. If MidiShaper's EGs listened to only specific notes or channels, I could trigger four different "patterns" using the MidiShaper channel.
I hope it has become clear what I meant. If not, let me know!

I finally got a chance to play with MIDIShaper today. Observations:
1. I found I couldn't use the 1.1 Beta in Nuendo 4.3 at all: for some reason it doesn't appear in Nuendo's MIDI device listing even when it's set to "output to host".
2. I have to re-iterate this request: the noise feature in its current incarnation isn't very useful but IMHO it could become one of MIDIShaper's most powerful features. Introducing beat synced sample-and-hold followed by a lag circuit to temper the changes over time would allow synched self-generating random behaviors, very useful for music, sfx, and ambiances.
3. Would it be possible to run a beta alongside a release? That would make it far easier to compare behaviors from one to the other. I tried renaming the beta dll but it didn't work.
Nice to see this little jewel evolve!

Until 4pm CET today you can still buy MidiShaper for EUR 10/USD 15. I will then change the price to EUR 20/USD 30.
MidiShaper 1.1 will bring AU support and output to physical and virtual MIDI ports, so if it does not run in your host or with your plugins it might do so with the next version (you can test it with the beta from the news at http://www.cableguys.de). It's currently in beta and we guess to do the official release within the next 10 days.
Pretty busy with all the demand for MidiShaper.. so sorry that I have not yet answered all your posts. Will do so soon.

So MidiShaper 1.1 beta 2 is up. This update brings some architectural changes on Mac and fixes MidiShaper's "Output To Host" setting on Windows, which got broken with the previous beta.
Grab can get the beta download from the news here:

MidiShaper 1.1 is out now!
It includes the much requested support for AudioUnits and can output MIDI not only to a host sequencer directly, but also to physical and virtual MIDI ports. With some hosts and plugins this makes setting up MidiShaper much easier.

Hey, we've uploaded new videos which show how to use MidiShaper in Logic and how to modulate Ableton Live's devices and parameters:
http://www.cableguys.de/midi-shaper.html
Logic was quite difficult to figure out, it's such a bloated complicated program when it comes to controller setup. But if you know the steps involved it's ok to do.

Hope you're not too strict with the time. I'd really like to try this out later on today.Jakob / CableGuys wrote:Until 4pm CET today you can still buy MidiShaper for EUR 10/USD 15. I will then change the price to EUR 20/USD 30.
