Not true but i kinda agree with you.

All other stuff are distortion mushy meshy toys but VTM and TB Reelbus are godsend for tape emulation..

Slate VTM for me the Waves MPX was no where near as transparent but I liked the effect it had on the sound.

The Waves MPX is cool as an effect but I wouldn't use it in places where I am looking for a traditional tape sound.
